Making Sugar Skulls.

Dia de los Muertos, also know as Day of the Dead, is a HUGE deal here in San Antonio! It is a two day long Mexican holiday that is spent honoring those that have passed. The purpose of the holiday is to celebrate lost ones lives and their memory, not to focus on their death. One of the most common customs during the holiday is making an elaborate altar in order to welcome departed spirits home. A part of these altars are beautifully decorated sugar skulls. Holly and I had the opportunity to learn how to make them recently in a really fun class that we took. You might remember that last year we took a class through NISD as well.
